President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declared the period of 17 March 2018 to 16 March 2019 as the Year for the Celebration of the 95th founding Anniversary of the Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) of Accountancy with the theme “95 Years of Invaluable Service to the Philippines and the Global Accountancy Community.” The said declaration was signed last 3 April 2018 in the City of Manila.

RA No. 9298 or the Philippine Accountancy Act of 2004 recognizes the role of accountants in nation-building and their excellent participation in the global accountancy community. The PRB of Accountancy supervises the licensure and registration of professionals, and regulates its practice of accountancy in the Philippines. They are also responsible in monitoring the different conditions affecting the practice of the profession in order to enhance the accountancy profession here in the country.
