PRC cancels Civil Engineer Licensure Exam in Tacloban and Legazpi Cities
Manila, December 5, 2014 --- The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces the cancellation of the Civil Engineer licensure exam in Tacloban and Legazpi Cities due to Super Typhoon Ruby (international name: Hagupit).
The PRC, citing the Advisory of the Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council to “Suspend events to give way for participants to return home to distant places safely and have enough time to prepare and mitigate possible typhoon impacts”, decided to cancel the exam as a precaution for the safety of examinees and the PRC examination personnel.
The PRC, through Commission Resolution No. 2014-864 (Guidelines on the Conduct or Cancellation of Licensure Examinations during inclement weather) may order the cancellation of the examination when weather disturbances results in widespread flooding and may pose imminent danger to examinees.
