Prc Mid-Year Performance Assessment and Planning Conference 2020 Goes Virtual
In this most critical time, where the threat of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) created an environment of restriction on mass gathering and mobility, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) gathered the one hundred ninety-two (192) participants through Microsoft Teams, and showed its ability to adapt to the “new normal”, while realizing one of its goals to continuously assess the status of accomplishment of identified programs, projects, and activities through the conduct of the first virtual annual Mid-Year Performance Assessment (MYPA) and Planning Conference last September 14, 2020.
The virtual MYPA was succesfully realized through the team efforts of the PRC’s Information and Communication Technology Service and the Planning Division, and through the guidance of the Oversight Commissioner, Jose Y. Cueto, Jr.
The theme “Responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic” was aimed at identifying various issues and concerns, with presentations of strategies and the most viable and doable options in order to address the unfavorable consequences brought about by the pandemic.
Virtually attended by the PRC officials and employees from the Central and Regional Offices, including the Chairpersons and Members of the various Professional Regulatory Boards, inputs on significant issues were taken from the individual presentations of various PRC offices leading into a single direction: the provision of efficient public service. These outputs will serve as a blueprint to ensure convergence of individual tasks towards the accomplishment of the Commission’s collective mandate and established directions before the year ends.
While Chairman Teofilo S. Pilando, Jr. highlighted in his semestral report the need to transform PRC to an institution with unsurpassed standards by moving forward with increased motivation, he emphasized the necessary changes in Commission policies in order for PRC to be able to adapt to the evolving requirements of public service despite the continuing community quarantine restrictions.
With the leadership of the Commission; the consistent support and guidance of the Professional Regulatory Boards, together with the initiatives and solutions provided by the organic offices, —PRC will pursue its commitment to the public it serves while beating the odds during these difficult times.
