PRC participates in Women’s Month Celebration

Manila, April 21, 2016 --- Pursuant to of Presidential Proclamation No. 224 and 227 series of 1988 and Republic Act No. 6949 series of 1990, the Professional Regulation Commission joins in celebrating the National Women’s Month. This year’s celebration carries the theme, “Kapakanan ni Juana, Isama sa Agenda!”, resonate the call for gender and balance in leadership and decision making positions both in public and private sectors and inclusion of women’s concerns in leadership platforms and the government’s development agenda.

Relative to this year’s theme, the Professional Regulation Commission has lined several activities including the production of materials and collaterals and conducted several programs and activities for the clients, officials and employees culminating with the presentation of the Rationale for the celebration of the Women’s Month at the PRC grounds on February 29, 2016. The event continues with various Gender Sensitivity Training seminars held at Quirino Grandstand, Manila on March 16, 2016 followed by a series of seminars of Gender Sensitivity Training held at the PRC Examiner’s Lounge on March 14, 2016, Women’s Social Development Rights: The Vulnerable Group and Increasing awareness on VAW and Options towards Prosecution held at Bulwagang Nubla on March 18 and March 31, 2016. The PRC Manila employees also attended the ARISE Women: Inspirational Talk on Women Empowerment towards Gender Equality held at DOLE, Intramuros Manila on March 11, 2016, participated in “Sama – Samang Pagsulong sa mga Agenda ni Juana”, a public event hosted by the Philippine Commission on Women held at Quirino Grand Stand, Manila on March 16, 2016.

The PRC Regional Offices also conducted similar activities and programs related to the celebration of this 2016 National Women’s Month.
