Manila, October 9, 2013 – The Professional Regulation Commission announces the holding of the 2nd Philippine Professional Summit with the theme “Empowering Professionals Towards ASEAN Economic Community 2015” on October 15-16, 2013 at the Fiesta Pavilion of the Manila Hotel in celebration of the Philippine Professional Competitiveness Week by virtue of Proclamation No. 487, issued by His Excellency Benigno S. Aquino III.

The second summit presents the regional and national developments that will prepare the competitiveness of the Filipino professionals in 2015. The 2-day summit aims to achieve an action agenda for professional services on standards of professional practice in the Philippines and to come up with strategies, action programs and policies to address the challenges of professionals specifically on regulation, development and professionals services, including entrepreneurship, doing business and joint ventures as professionals.

The summit also aims to unify the support, cooperation and participation of the professionals in achieving the updated Philippine Development Plan and the Philippine Labor and Employment Plan and enhance the understanding on ASEAN Economic MRAs, National Qualification Frameworks and its impact to the Filipino professionals.

The summit is a collaborative project of the PRC and the PAPRB for the year 2013 and provides a direction and guidance in the implementation of various professional services.
