Davao City, Philippines - Construction of PRC XI’s Multi-Purpose Building formally started last 8 January 2023 through a simple Ground Breaking Ceremony and Site Dedication at Barangay Indangan, Davao City.

The event was graced by PRC Chairperson, Hon. Charito A. Zamora as keynote speaker together with Hon. Erwin M. Enad, Commissioner II and Oversight for Physical Infrastructure. They were joined by Engr. Richard A. Ragasa, District Engineer of DPWH – Davao City District Engineering Office, the Implementing Agency of the project, and Director Raquel R. Abrantes, PRC RO XI Regional Director.

In her welcome message, Director Abrantes was elated by the presence of the Honorable Chairperson and Commissioner as an affirmation that PRC XI’s plans are aligned with the Chairperson’s vision for PRC as a whole and fuel the personnel’s passion for public service.

Commissioner Enad, on the other hand, said that it is a heartwarming sight to begin the year witnessing the progress of the project. He added that the event concretized the spirit of collaboration between and among government agencies and the private sector as a foundation for future cooperation and contributing to the development of the Davao Region and the nation as a whole.

Chairperson Zamora said that the new building will not only represent another government facility but, importantly a testament to PRC’s commitment to fulfilling its mandate. Looking forward to the day of its completion, Chairperson Zamora stressed the importance of seeing the public we swore to serve benefit from the collective efforts, hard work, and active support of PRC personnel and all the PRC’s invaluable partners in realizing this project.

Before the actual groundbreaking, the project site was blessed by Rev. Fr. Marbendear L. Morales, DCD who said that besides the building and the property being blessed, it is the personnel who will work on it and who will use it, who will sanctify the structure.

After the blessing, Chairperson Zamora, Commissioner Enad, Director Abrantes and Engr. Ragasa led the ceremonial signing of the building’s Architectural Perspective and laying of the time capsule.

Professional Regulatory Boards were also present led by Hon. Elsie A. Tee (Nursing), Hon. Thelma S. Ciudadano (Accountancy), Hon. Fe J. Sinsona (Social Work), Hon. Ely B. Acosta (Social Work), Hon. Adelina C. Royo (Pharmacy) and Hon. Lerma M. Valenzuela (Midwifery). DPWH-DCDEO Assistant District Engineer, Engr. Lilibeth M. Sarmiento and representatives from Green Land Housing and Real Estate Development, Inc. also attended the event together with PRC RO XI personnel.

The new building will rise over a sprawling six thousand (6,000) square meters of property donated by Green Land Housing formally accepted by PRC last 8 August 2022. As implementing agency, DPWH – DCDEO undertook the procurement activity through competitive public bidding. Bids were opened last 22 November 2022 and the Notice of Award issued last 16 December 2022 to AIMM Builders and Construction Supply, Inc. as the winning contractor. Once completed, PRC will inaugurate a 4-story building with a total floor area of 3,000 square meters that can accommodate 360 clients under the new normal set-up.

In time, Professionals, and those who aspires to be, and the public, in general, can look forward to a PRC that will provide them with better convenience, accessibility, and quality public service.
