RO1’s ANTABAY Sets Bridges with HEIs, CHED, and PRC
ROSALES, PANGASINAN – In a remarkable initiative commemorating the 50th Founding Anniversary and the Professional Regulation Week of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), the PRC Regional Office 1 (PRC – RO1) launched Project ANTABAY last June 15, 2023. As spearheaded by the astute leadership of RO1 Regional Director, Atty. Arl Ruth B. Sacay – Sabelo, Project Antabay aims to forge and fortify alliances with the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Region 1. The strategic collaboration aimed toward the regulation of Degree Programs offered by HEIs in accordance with the guidelines set by the PRC.
PRC-RO1 representative highlighted the key objectives of Project ANTABAY during the launch, giving emphasis to the pressing need of addressing the challenges faced by students and HEIs concerning the cumbersome documentary requirements for various Licensure Examinations.
As part of the initiative, PRC will furnish HEIs with regular updates from the Professional Regulatory Boards, who oversee the practices of respective forty-six (46) regulated professions. Such updates will serve as invaluable insights for professors, educators, and HEIs officials. This will empower them to efficiently guide their students in preparations for Licensure Examination Applications. On one hand, as stipulated by Commission Resolution No. 2015-885, educational institutions are obligated to submit a notarized list of graduates or degree holders who are potential Licensure Examination candidates within fifteen (15) days of their conferment.
The unveiling of Project ANTABAY was witnessed and participated by esteemed faculty members, deans, presidents, and other notable officials representing diverse HEIs of Region 1. Their enthusiastic and passionate involvement in Project ANTABAY highlighted the collective commitment of the academic community to collaborate with the PRC. Thus, this would foster an efficient and student-centric Licensure Examination process. With this project, the PRC, Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and HEIs are poised to nurture robust communication, cooperation, and support among the institutions. This synergized undertaking will play a pivotal role to equip aspiring professionals with the necessary tools to embark on successful careers.
